Diabetic Care Guidelines

Foot care: People with diabetes are at increased risk for foot problems, so it is important to check feet regularly for cuts, sores, and blisters. Wear comfortable shoes that fit well and avoid going barefoot.

Regular checkups: Regular checkups with a doctor are essential for managing diabetes. Your doctor may recommend blood tests to monitor your blood sugar levels, cholesterol levels, and kidney function.

Analyze Blood Sugar Levels: Regular monitoring of blood sugar levels is essential for managing diabetes. This can be done using a blood glucose meter, which can be purchased at most pharmacies. Your doctor may recommend testing your blood sugar at certain times of the day or before and after meals.

Medication: Depending on the type of diabetes, medication may be necessary to manage blood sugar levels. Insulin injections may be required for people with type 1 diabetes, while oral medications may be used to manage type 2 diabetes. Follow the prescribed medication regimen and monitor blood sugar levels regularly.

Exercise: Regular exercise can help control blood sugar levels and improve overall health. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days of the week. Consult with a doctor before starting a new exercise regimen.

Diet: A healthy diet is essential for people with diabetes. The diet should be high in fiber and low in carbohydrates, particularly refined sugars and grains. Focus on eating fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats. It is also important to avoid overeating and to maintain a healthy weight.
Remember that managing (FRAMED) diabetes is a lifelong commitment, and it requires discipline and diligence. Our doctor will develop a personalized treatment plan that works best for you.
